When it comes to selecting a wedding photographer, first
consider the years of experience, the number of weddings completed, and whether
the photographer is a full-time professional or a weekend hobbyist. Elbe
Photography, a full-time, full service licensed photography studio, has over 30
years of experience and has performed the photography for over 2500 weddings.
Secondly, select a photographer who uses up-to-date, professional-grade
equipment that will capture your moments in exactly the way that you are
expecting. The professionals of Elbe Photography use state-of the-art digital
and conventional equipment, and have the technical expertise to create unmatched
imagery and special effects such as infrared technology, unique
multiple-lighting effects, and spot painting.
Photographers from Elbe Photography have backup equipment and professional
photographic assistants on the job as additional assurance that everything will
go just as you expect. Assistants help set up groupings, arrange the subjects
and organize the equipment while the photographer is preparing for the next
shot. A secondary benefit of using assistants is that more photos are taken on
your special day!
Next, select a photographer whose personality works well with yours. The ideal
photographer should be open to your suggestions as well as be able to suggest
certain shots, groupings, and lighting arrangements that you haven't considered.
He should be able to "blend into the background" while capturing every important
moment. He should be able to compose interesting arrangements and create
multiple lighting effects while keeping the subjects together and observing the
tight time constraints.
Ask about the style of photography that is available. Elbe Photography offers
traditional posed shots, as well as modern photojournalistic styles, or a
combination of both. In addition, we offer color, black & white, sepia tones,
infrared technology, spot painting, and more to provide you with photographs you
will treasure forever.
Ask if you will be given the negatives or digital files. One
option offered by Elbe Photography is where you are provided with all negatives
and/or CD's with digital files so that you may order reprints/enlargements or
print digital files yourself at your leisure.
Choose a photographer very soon after you set the wedding date - the very best
photographers are in high demand and their calendars fill up quickly. As soon as
you make your decision, put down a deposit to book your date and get a written
contract detailing services to be performed.
If possible, visit the studio of the photographer you are considering. Ask to
see a portfolio of wedding photos, and if possible, ask for references. Ask to
speak to the photographer that will actually be doing your wedding so that you
become comfortable with their personality and characteristics.
Elbe Photography will be proud to help you on your special day!
